The original purpose of this event was to bring attention to issues that impacted Vietnam War veterans and remember those who were prisoners of war and missing in action.Bringing awareness to the 82,000 POW/MIAs has always been a core mission for AMVETS and to let it go by the wayside would be the equivalent to turning the page on those veterans whose stories remain unfinished.
We can never let our country forget those who bravely fought for freedom. AMVETS works tirelessly to hold our government accountable for what our country owes veterans, especially the suicide epidemic. More than 22 veterans a day take their lives. We must all be a part of the solution.
