Veterans, Patriots and fellow Americans
Recently it was reported the largest veteran focused demonstration held in Washington, DC would be coming to an end in 2019.
The original purpose of this event was to bring attention to issues that impacted Vietnam War veterans and remember those who were prisoners of war and missing in action. To end this signature annual event would be the equivalent to turning the page on those veterans whose stories remain unfinished, with over 1,600 still missing in action today.
We can never let our country forget those who bravely fought for freedom only to return home to an ungrafteful nation - for those who were lucky enough to return. AMVETS works tirelessly to hold our government accountable for what our country owes Vietnam War veterans. That's the "why" behind our intention to continue this tradition.
AMVETS is the leading voice on veteran suicide (Vietnam War veterans are still the highest population taking their own lives), benefits for Blue Water Navy vets, and HEAL Program for aging Vietnam War veterans.
AMVETS wants to continue the tradition on behalf of our Vietnam War veterans. We need you to be a part of the effort. To read more about the movement:
